The word TEACUP is not recognized in the AKC standard for yorkies, it is just a word to refference to the tiny Yorkies. Personally i love the tiny ones they are calmer than the standard yorkies. Our Yorkies and parti yorkies are loved very much, and only go to good responsible Yorkie owners. Our spoiled little Yorkies come from good healthy Yorkie lines, with tiny genetics, in other words the parents and grand parents where tiny little Yorkies, so they will be tiny and have good sturdy healthy little bodies. There’s nothing quite like the innocent smile or playful laughter of a newborn. They’re almost as cute as puppies.

But what happens when you cross a curious puppy with an unsuspecting baby?

You get one of the most adorable interactions on the planet.

Babies are the best, whether human or puppy.

Watch this Yorkie sneak up on an unsuspecting baby, simply minding his own business atop a blanket on the grass in the sun.

The Yorkie walks into frame, ready for some action. The body language exhibits alertness.

The pup plops onto the thick sheet, as if ready to pounce on the child.

Unsuspecting Blanket Baby doesn’t even see the Yorkie yet, just outside of view.

Yorkie mellows, lowering for a sniff at the base of Blanket Baby’s bottom.

I mean, it was inevitable.

Yorkie’s detail-oriented, leaving no stones unturned.

The curious pup saves some energy. Instead of pouncing, Pup proceeds to walk around the child, clearly seeking attention.

The Yorkie’s still sniffin’. This is a full-body investigation.

Beautiful Bald Blanket Baby looks off into the distance, likely contemplating existence. Who are we? What’s this furry thing in front of me?

The Yorkie nudges the affable Blanket Baby. He laughs it off.

He’s a gigglebox.

The Yorkie takes a seat, eyes fixated on baby counterpart.

Blanket Baby extends his arm, which is met by the Yorkie. He holds his hand in the air briefly, receiving a few puppy kisses.

Feels like the beginning of a beautiful bond.

The Yorkie jolts into the baby’s open lap.

Although a bit surprised, Big Bald Blanket Baby giggles some more.

This is too cute – a double baby bonanza.

Uh-oh, now there’s no holding back. The Yorkie unleashes some fury unto Bald Blanket Baby, jumping on his shoulder and back.

Beautiful Bald Baby laughs uncontrollably.

There’s nothing but fun in the sun on the blanket in the grass.

What a beautiful day.

Ben Froehle, the child’s father, adds some more context in the video’s YouTube description,

“The scourge sweeping America is at it again. Our innocent young son is savagely attacked by this bloodthirsty beast. The authorities are helpless against this menace. By the time the local PD showed up the miniature terror was on to it’s next victim. People I beg of you, don’t let this savagery continue. The Yorkie threat must be eliminated.”

The circumstances are quite terrifying.

The Yorkie begins to lick Blanket Baby’s ear. This is dire.

He might not make it out in one piece.

Things take a turn for the worst.

The Yorkie jumps on Big Beautiful Blanket Baby, putting him on his back! He’s done for.

Baby’s smothered with love.

They’re absolutely adorable together. We just witnessed some of the cutest play wrestling ever.

Yorkshire Terriers are known to be sprightly and affectionate – this one fits the description perfectly. In fact, they’re one of the world’s most beloved breeds, constantly among the most popular dogs in major American cities. They’re beloved by longtime urbanites.

Yorkie and Blanket Baby are going to share a plethora of beautiful moments as they grow up together. They’re two peas in a pod.

But one day, the Yorkie’s not going to be able to bring down Grown Baby. He’ll be way too big. Yorkshire Terriers peak around 6 or 7 pounds.

If dogs are man’s best friend, then puppies are baby’s best friend.

Male VS Female Yorkies

In regard to Yorkies and cats, there is no difference in how a male or female Yorkie will react. Surprising to many, is that this breed generally gets along very well with cats and some Yorkies are best friends with felines housemates. This should, however, always be tested when thinking about introducing a new pet into the house.

In regard to having a male or a female and wondering which gender would be best when adding a second dog, there are pros and cons to both same and opposite gender.  Whenever you have two dogs of the same sex, this may create a competitive environment. This is particularly true if the dogs have not been fixed (spayed and neutered).  With two girls or two boys, there can be jealousy. This is less likely to happen if the Yorkies grow up together.  This isn't to say that this will happen or that it won't happen with opposite gender; however this is something to consider and keep in mind as a possibility.

On the flip side of the coin, if you have a male or female Yorkshire Terrier and are thinking about getting another one, you will already have experience with the gender of your established dog... and this can make care of the second pet much easier.

Tips for Naming Your Dog

Before you choose a name for your Yorkie, there are several considerations you and your family must make. Your family—and your dog—has to live with the name you choose for years to come, so take your time and choose wisely. No pressure, right?

When searching for the perfect name, be sure to consider your dog's physical appearance. What color is her coat? Does she have a distinct pattern? Does she have any distinguishing characteristics? Then, perhaps more importantly, consider your dog's personality. Is she a rambunctious girl or does she prefer to lounge on the couch? As previously mentioned, Yorkies tend to have big, bold personalities, so it's important to give him or her a name that matches.

There are a few logistical decisions to make when naming a new dog, too:

  • Avoid any names that could sound like a command, such as "sit" and "Kit," as this could confuse your dog.
  • Consider names with one or two syllables and hard consonants, which are easier for your dog to hear and understand
  • Avoid "funny" or offensive names. If you'd be embarrassed to shout your dog's name in the park, choose something else.
  • Choose a name that will grow with your dog. Some names may be cute for puppies, but inappropriate for older, mature dogs.

"Big" Names for Yorkies

Despite their smaller size—most clock in between 5 and 7 pounds fully grown—Yorkies are well-known for their big, tenacious personalities. So, why not give your pooch a super-sized name to match his super-sized attitude?

  • Atlas: In Greek mythology, Atlas was a titan whose job was to literally hold the universe in place. Your Yorkie may not have the upper-body strength of Atlas, but he can play a serious game of tug-of-war, right?
  • Bear: Not only do Yorkies look like teddy bears, but a tiny dog named after one of nature's largest creatures is hilariously cute, no?
  • Chewy: You've probably noticed that Yorkies bear a striking resemblance to Chewbacca from Starr Wars. Bonus if points if your Chewy can replicate Chewbacca's signature "aggghhhh."
  • King: Let's face it—your new dog is going to be the king of the household, anyway, so you might as well give him the most royal name out there.
  • Moose: Like Bear, a tiny dog named after a massive woodland creature is just downright adorable.
  • Rocky: If your Yorkie has a tough-guy attitude and loves to wrestle around, why not name him after the world's most famous fighter, Rocky Balboa? Just don't be surprised if your Yorkie starts to howl "Adrian!"
  • Thor: The Greek god of lightning and thunder, Thor was responsible for a whole lot of racket. Which probably isn't dissimilar from your Yorkie when he barks.
