Old School Runescape Lizard Shaman Guide
In OSRS, Shamans are pretty strong monsters that live in Zeah, mostly in the Shayzien House.
They are easy to fight, and they drop the coveted Dragon Warhammer why is why most players decide to battle and grind Lizard Shamans.
Before anything, you must have a 100% Favour in the Shayzien House to fight the Lizard Shamans. However, do not worry because the Shayzien House is one of the fastest to complete, which makes this an underwhelming requirement. Additionally, most fights are done in ranged attacks.
Therefore, it is advised to be level 75 Ranged Attack or more to fight these monsters. Apart from helping you combat the Shamans, the 75 Level is required to wield the Toxic Blowpipe. Nevertheless, if you are using a different weapon, you can consider this as a milestone to get started.
Recommended: Hard Kourend Diaries
If you feel that you are making very slow kills and have the bare minimum range level, it is best to train your Range level. The higher your Range level is, the faster your kills are going to be. It is also suggested to have your “Hard Kourend Diaries” completed if you plan on fighting these creatures on a Slayer task, Although it is not necessary to fight these monsters on a Lizardman task, it might help you speed up your kill a bit.
Recommended: High Agility Level
There is a lot of running involved in these combats, so it is also recommended to have many Stamina potions or a high Agility level. However, you will not be able to see a difference until you have entered a fight.

Gear and Inventory
Most of the gear necessary or that will help you fight the Shamans are not that difficult to obtain.
One of the most critical items that you will need is Shayzien Armour. Each Tier 5 piece of the full set will bestow you a 20% chance to dodge a specific Shaman attack. You should know that Shamans have an Attack that can hit you pretty hard, but it can be entirely negated if you have the full Armour set. Since each piece gives you a 20% chance to dodge the attack, you will have a 100% chance to negate them with the five armor pieces.
You can obtain the set by fighting and defeating Shayzien and the warriors in the Combat Ring located within Shayzien. There are five warriors that you must defeat, and each one of them drops a different piece of the armor. However, you must start with Tier 1 and advance through each stage before obtaining the Shayxzien Tier 5 Armor. You must collect the five pieces of each tier before you can begin collecting the next tier. Thus, you will begin at tier 1 and then progress to tier 2, tier 3, and so on.
You are guaranteed to obtain the full set in five kills, so you will need 25 total kills to advance each tier. It is possible to kill the Shamans without this armor, but it can be quite challenging and tedious. Therefore, it is not recommended. Although all the pieces are great, the Helmet piece can be changed.
The Helmet can be replaced by the Slayer Helmet when you obtained as a reward from completing the “Hard Kourened Diaries” quest chain. You just have to talk to Captain Cleive, and he will make your Slayer Helmet count as the Shayzien Tier 5 Helmet. If you do this, you will receive better stats and still fully negate all the Shamans’ attacks.
In your Cape slot, the best option is Ava’s devices. Although Ava’s Assembler is the best of them, not many players can complete Dragon Slayer 2 or have not done it when they fight the Lizard Shamans. So, your second-best choice is Ava’s Accumulator. So, it truly depends on how much time you want to invest in grinding for gear and equipment.
In regards to your ranged items, your next best slot is the Necklace of Anguish. This item provides an extraordinary ranging accuracy bonus and a ranged Strength bonus, which is fairly unique for items that are not placed in the Ammo slots. If you are unable to obtain this necklace, your other options are the Amulet of Fury and the Amulet of Glory. However, the best of these two is the Amulet of Fury. You should only consider the Amulet of Glory if you simply do not want to level the slot empty since it is not as strong as the previous two items.
Now, one of the most important items in your gear is your weapon slot. As said previously, the best weapon to fight the Shamans is the Toxic Blowpipe. I know many players who use the Twisted Bow as an alternative because it can crank up the monsters pretty hard, but it’s too expensive IMO. The Toxic Blowpipe can also be quite expensive for some players, and if you do not have enough money, you can opt for a Rune Crossbow. It will do the job as a weapon.
Either way, if you have enough money to buy it, then you should invest it to purchase the Toxic Blowpipe.

OSRS Lizardman Shaman Guide – Everything You Need To Know
I’m here to share with you my OSRS Lizardman Shaman Guide. This guide will cover everything you need to know about the lizardman shaman in OSRS including their stats and abilities. I hope this helps!
What are Lizard Shamans in OSRS?
The Lizardman Shamans are reptiles who have way more strength than their normal counterparts. So what’s the main reason we want to kill them? Well, they drop a dragon Warhammer which is worth it because it’s one of those rare OSRS items. Here’s how you can take one down in no time at all.
OSRS Lizard Shaman Strategy
When it comes to killing Lizard Shamans, we highly recommend that you have at least 80 attack, 60 defence, 80 strength, and 43 prayer if you plan to melee this creature. If you’d like to use range, you must have at least 80 ranged, 43 prayer, and 60 defence.
Another tip is to get one of the most important pieces you’ll need which is the Shayzien Armor. Each tier 5 piece will bestow on its wearer a 20% chance to dodge Shaman’s attack; which can be pretty painful, but entirely negated if one has all five armor set pieces. The power lies within each individual armoring giving their wearier a 20% chance to negate it when attacked with this specific shaman skill; and since there are only five tiers for full sets available, then that means someone who wears them would’ve already had 100%.
You can collect the Shayzien Tier 5 Armor by fighting and defeating warriors in a Combat Ring. There are five tiers of armor, but you must gather pieces from every tier to reach T5 – which means collecting all previous four tiers before they’ll drop any more for you!
You start out at tier 1 with only one piece available, then progress through each stage as your opponents get stronger until finally reaching the coveted Tier 5 armour set.
How To Kill Lizard Shamans
The Lizardman attack with melee, ranged, and a special attack. For the melee attacks, it’s a standard attack with normal animation for that weapon type. The same goes with ranged weapons but these can also poison an opponent in addition to doing damage on impact or at specific ranges (if you use them right).
The lizard shamans have three specials which are easily their most deadly skills: acid spit is where they launch huge balls of damaging liquid straight ahead; this powerful skill does irresistible damage if not resisted by player resistance stats (plus has a chance to be poisonous).
Shamans will also use jump attacks to get the drop on you. These are best avoided by getting out of their way and running in a zigzag pattern, as this makes it difficult for them to predict your next location. Be aware that when they land, shamans can also do heavy damage with their stomp attack which is not resistible if the player is close enough (within 3×3 spaces). This means players should stay at least 4 squares away from any obstacles or walls so as avoid being attacked or knocked down.
Last but not least, there are the spawns. If you have a suspicious feeling that your spawn is being watched by an enemy shaman or if they just seem to know when and where you’re going to appear next then it might be worth summoning some of these little guys for backup! The more space between them and any enemies in range, the better – otherwise their explosion can do 10 points of damage on anyone standing two spaces away from them.

Lizardman shamans are popular monsters hunted by players for their fabled dragon warhammer drop, which fetches a very high price due to its extremely useful special attack for high level PvM encounters. This guide will give a few tips and some setups to help out with your kills.
Lizardman shamans can be found in two locations: in the western side of the Lizardman Canyon or in a cave on the northern end of the Lizardman Settlement, south of Xeric's Shrine.
The canyon contains three shamans in a large, multi-combat area. The cave contains eight shamans in a small, single-way area, with two shamans in each room.
Note that the shamans in the cave can only be killed on a Slayer task.
Lizardman shamans use the following attacks:
- Melee attack - a standard melee attack sharing the same animation as the other lizardmen.
- Ranged attack - a standard ranged attack sharing the same animation as the other lizardmen. This attack can poison.
- Special attacks - Lizardman shamans have three special attacks that can be used without cooldown:
- Acid spit - The shaman spits a large ball of acid at the player's current location. This will deal unblockable poison damage for up to 30 damage. This attack can poison. The damage reduces if you wear a full set of Shayzien armour, obtained from fighting the soldiers in the Combat Ring. Wearing the full tier 5 Shayzien set negates all damage done by this attack, though you can still be poisoned.
- Jump - The shaman jumps into the air before crashing down at the player's location when they jumped. This can be avoided by moving out of the way. If the shaman stomps you, you will take heavy damage which cannot be blocked. Shamans cannot jump if the player is next to an obstacle or wall, as they occupy a 3x3 space.
- Spawns - The shaman summons three spawns next to the player, who will follow the player upon spawning, unless the spawns are summoned in a position where they cannot see the player. After several seconds, the spawn will explode, dealing 8-10 damage to players that are two spaces or less from it when it explodes.
Melee or Ranged is recommended. Lizardman shamans are weak to both combat styles; specifically, they have negative stab defence and no ranged defence bonuses. Slash, crush and magical attacks are not recommended as they have high defensive bonuses against those styles.
While you can get Slayer bonuses if you have a lizardman task, you will take some damage from the acid spit attack and can deal a lot of damage over time if wearing the Slayer helmet. Thus, it's best to wear Shayzien armour instead regardless of combat class.
Activate Protect from Melee, and if using, set up your Dwarf multicannon north-west by the obstruction in Lizardman Canyon, or set up your cannon in the open area south-west.
Always pay attention to all special attacks, namely leaping and summoning minions regardless. Move out of the way as soon as you see them jump, and dodge the minions by maneuvering around an obstacle or moving a few spaces away.
