    On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at approximately 7:30 PM, the Kennett Twp PD responded to a business in the 700 block of W. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square for a stolen vehicle report. The victim reported that he left his vehicle running and unlocked, while he went inside the business. When he returned to the parking lot, the vehicle was gone.

  • Assistance Needed - Burglary Investigation

    On 10-7-19, the KTPD responded to a business on Ways Lane for a burglary discovered. Surveillance video from the area shows that a vehicle, believed to be a 2006-2010 Honda Civic, arrived at the business at approximately 12:24 AM. Additional videos clips show two subjects, wearing dark clothing, approach the business. The only item taken was an orange, 2015 KTM 250 XCW Dirt Bike.

Kennett Township Police Officers seek to benefit those they serve, as well as the profession of law enforcement, by committing themselves to fair and impartial application of the law, tenacious pursuit of the truth, and respect for the individual.The Kennett Township Police Department strives to preserve and promote the feeling of security and safety to all members of the public it serves. This department understands that trust must be present for officers to succeed in their sworn duties and that the overall success of the Kennett Township Police Department is based on the alliance it has with the residents of the community. Officers, while engaging in either diligent proactive measures or conducting investigations in a reactive role, are dedicated to accomplishing the task at hand in a lawful and professional manner. By demonstrating integrity, honesty, compassion, tolerance, and accountability, the Kennett Township Police Department and its officers will achieve their vision to improve the quality of life for the residents they serve and hold responsible those who seek to disrupt it.

The objective of the Kennett Township Police Department is to improve the quality of life and enhance the community through professional law enforcement services that promote community policing. Kennett Township Police Department is committed to providing members of the public with respect and dignity. We maintain the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all actions. We will treat all those we serve in a compassionate, sensitive, courteous and professional manner, regardless of sex, race, lifestyle or reason for police contact. The integrity of the Department must not be compromised. There can be no question or suspicion among the citizenry regarding Department ethics. Professionalism requires impeccable conduct, careful protection of all citizens' rights and the maintenance of high levels of accountability from all members of the Department.

    The Kennett Square Police Department would like to say thank you to Turner family, from David’s Drive 831.  David’s Drive 831 is a nonprofit charitable organization located in Coatesville. The organization is dedicated to assisting struggling veterans and people in need. David’s Drive 813 (8-letters 3-words 1 -meaning, “I love you”) was established in the memory of David Turner Jr. who suddenly passed away at 20 years old.

    As the weather begins to warm up, the Borough historically experiences an elevated number of thefts from motor vehicles. We have begun to see this trend and due to COVID-19 work and school restrictions, many people are home and idle. This presents an opportunity for idle would be criminals to commit these thefts, but it also presents the opportunity for those being home to see out of ordinary behavior.
